Secció sísmica
Welcome to the ISEV (Informació
Sísmica En
Viu) system web page of the Secció
de Sismologia de l'Observatori Fabra. This web page is
part of a cooperation agreement between the
Departament
d’Astronomia i Meteorologia (DAM) of the
Universitat de
Barcelona (UB), the Observatori Fabra of the
Reial Acadèmia
de Ciències i Arts de Barcelona (RACAB) and the
Laboratori d'Estudis Geofísics "Eduard Fontserè (LEGEF) of
the Institut
d'Estudis Catalans.
This web page allow to visualize in near-real
time the waveforms of the seismic stations FBR (Observatori
Fabra) and FONT (Fontmartina, Montseny). The plots are
presented in a similar way than these presented by the
helicoidal drums always present in seismic observatories. Plots
are updated every
20
minutes approximately. The representation
displays the short period (optimal for local events) and long
period (optimal for teleseisms) graph of the broadband station
FBR and the vertical component of station FONT (intermediate
period). Data for previous days are also available.

Instrumentation FBR:
Sensor Type: Geotech KS-2000
Data Acquisition System:
EarthData PS624
Data format: miniSEED
Record mode: Continuous three component,
channels HH, BH, LH, VH
In operation since January 12, 2002 (SP); January 15, 2004 (BB)
Site description FBR:
The Observatori Fabra is placed in the southern side of the Tibidabo mountain in Barcelona. The seismic sensors
site is located in the underground in a specifically built in pilar.
Instrumentation FONT:
Sensor Type: Geotech GS-13
Data Acquyisition System:
NMX RD3-16
Data format: miniSEED
Record mode: Continuous,
three component, channels EH at 80 Hz
In operation (digital) since Abril 14, 2004
Site description FONT:
The seismic station Fontmartina is placed in the Montseny mountain. The seismic sensors are located in an specifically designed pilar.
Signals are transmitted by radio telemetry to the Observatori Fabra where the acquisition system is placed.
Data Management:
The acquisition systems are located in the observatory. Ground motion measurements are recorded in continuous
mode using SeisComP and stored at the local server. Data is extracted and it is
qua-controlled periodically by means of the main seismic server of the
Departament d'Astronomia i Meteorologia (DAM) of the
Universitat de Barcelona (UB).
